Ink and Blood- One Shot

“SAVE and done.” I groaned, stretching my arms. “Another chapter completed.” I glanced at the time, 2 a.m. “Leave it, I will do it tomorrow. Let’s call it a day.” I kicked up from the chair and just jumped into the bed. “Ahh, I love this feeling, my bed.” I hugged my duvet. “Finally, a goodnight.” My head touched a soft silk pillow, and with one blink, I was engulfed by sleep.

A deafening sound echoed in the room, jolting me out of my beauty sleep. I sat up, squinting my eyes in an effort to see the surroundings, but none, it was dark. I tried to lay down and, “Ow, what the-” my head met a hard wall. I turned back while massaging my head.

My hand fumbled, travelling in every direction in an effort to search my surroundings, and suddenly my hand came in contact with a fabric. Clothes. What the actual heck is it clo-. “I am stuck. In a closet.” I scratched my head in an attempt to understand how I ended up here in the first place.

Another loud bang echoed, making me flinch. I shifted. “Th-This sound is of-” I found a small hole while shifting and adjusting clothes to my comfort. “GUN.” Both my hands flew to my mouth. I bit it in an effort to silence my upcoming screams. Peering through the hole, I saw a woman lying flat on the bed with a man all covered in black, mask, clothes, standing near the bed with his gun pointed at her.

After a few seconds, he turned and left the room. I slowly pushed the closet door after lifting the metal lock on the top. It took me time to find it. With every effort to not make a sound, still a creak echoed as I tiptoed out of the closet.

I looked around. The room… was lavish. An emerald green and gold theme screaming money and luxury. I was taking in the surroundings when my eyes fell on a lamp, a light bulb fixed inside a ball with flower petals around the ball emerging from the bottom of the ball. “No, don’t think too much, it’s a coincidence.” Then my eyes landed on the golden lion residing on the coffee table exactly how I had described it in my book.
